NEW TEAM INFORMATION

Team registration process to go electronic Jan. 1
By Andy Romey | The American Legion - November 3, 2009
The registration process for American Legion Baseball teams will soon become a lot easier. Starting Jan. 1, coaches will be able to fill out team applications online, and the entire application process will be electronic, thanks to the Legion’s new Website that launched Nov. 9. At the start of 2010, coaches will be able to submit team applications online for review by their state’s baseball chairman. Upon its approval, a login and password will be generated to give coaches access to an area where they can select their insurance and pay national, state and insurance fees. Coaches receive notification when their insurance has been processed. They can
then begin holding tryouts.
Once their team is set, coaches can login, upload a team photo, and fill out their roster with players’ names, biographical information and photographs. Deadlines for these processes are set by department baseball
chairmen, who will review all submissions. Upon chairmen approval, coaches will be able to submit game schedules. The final product will be a comprehensive team page, with a team photo, roster and schedule.

From A. J. Jones, Baseball Chairman

As stated in the notice from National shown above, registration for teams will be electronic.  The registration form is found at www.legion.org/baseball Scroll down the left side to where it says "Register a team" and click on that link which takes you to the form for you to fill out.

The form is fill in the blanks for the most part.  This form is all that is required to initially register a team.  Where it asks for "A, AA, AAA", this is applicable to our program - we are Junior or Senior.  Coaches can register their teams starting January 1, 2010 and once a team is approved, then the coach can fill his roster, pay his registration fees, and insurance.

To assist with the registration process, below is a summary of written instructions that explain in more detail the flow of information and the process required to accomplish the end results.  Just click on the "Word Document" link below to read and/or print a copy of these instructions.
